The passion of Antioch Prison Ministry is to create opportunities for men and women to encounter Jesus through community and Life Groups.
God has placed it on our hearts to go to the prisons. We believe Jesus Christ through the local church is the hope of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system. We are a Christian based ministry who share the gospel. We believe that through the gospel, cultures will change as lives are transformed. This will improve the conditions of prisons and society as inmates are released to walk in the newness of life.

JAKE STRICKLAND,
Prison Ministry Resident
Hello, my name is Jake Strickland, and as a young man I chose the path of sin which would lead to serving 21½ years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. For the first few years I did it the hard way, but in 2010 God rescued me from the pit I had put myself in, and transformed my self-centered heart into a heart of service. It was soon noticed and I was chosen to be a Field Minister, where after receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies, I was sent out as a missionary traveling unit to unit working with wardens and chaplains preaching, teaching, and doing rehabilitative programs. My last 10 years in prison are not a regular prison story but a story of God's faithfulness. Gratefully I was released from prison in July of 2025, but the mission remains, take the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the prisons. As and Intern Resident with Antioch Prison Ministry, I can now go back inside the prisons to continue my assignment: making disciples, preaching the Word, and walking with men and women as they encounter God day by day.
